- No, the chip ram uses 256x4 DIPs. Depending on the setup of your existing
- 4Meg of fast, if it is using 1Meg of DIPs in the first bank of sockets and
- three banks of 256x4 ZIPs, you can move the DIPs to chip ram and remove the
- existing ZIPs as they can not be used with the new 1Mx4 chips. If the
- present fast ram is 1Mx4 chips all in one bank, you just add the new ones
- in the next two banks and you will have to get another 1 Meg of DIPs to
- bring the chip ram up to 2 Meg. If you take the cover off, you should be
- able to see which fast ram sockets are populated (they are under the drive
- pan/power supply), you may need a flashlight to do it. The chip ram
- sockets are on the other side below the expansion slots.
